Fall Fashion
It's that time of year again, FALL!
Even though it's 80 degrees outside today and it doesn't feel like it, September is finally here. While I am sad to see Summer go, I am excited for everything that Fall brings. The leaves changing, cooler temperatures, pumpkin pies, and apple picking!
I cant wait to head out to the country and go apple picking, its just one of those traditional New England things that everyone has to do at least once. I, on the other hand, like to go at least once a season.
Inspired by apple picking, here is my take on Fall this year
1. Keeper Chambray Shirt 2. Burgundy Skinny Cord 3. Silk Square Scarf 4. Pearl Earrings 5. Gold Monogram Signet Ring 6. Petty Bootie 7. Barbour Bedale Jacket 8. Pendleton Glacier Park Throw
Happy Weekend Everyone!

The Summer is short lived around these parts. Blink and you may miss it. If you are a New Englander these Summer hours are precious ones that don't come around too often. So making the most out of every hour is essential.
Here is a blue inspired round up of Summer things

elephant bracelet - well this is an easy one. elephants and blue, this is perfection.
blue leather clutch - I have this in orange, but I think my closet needs the blue one too. Bonus, you can get it personalized.
essie Bikini so Teeny - my little piggies are feeling special with this color on them right now

Orange and Blue
I don't think I will ever get tired of orange and blue. They were my wedding colors, they are used in my family room, and seem to turn up over and over in my closet. Here are a few of my favorite orange and blue items perfect for this Summer
Essie Aruba Blue and Tart Deco show up on my nails and toes quite often
I have these Ann Taylor jeans in coral, turquoise and green and I think I will live in them all summer long- I'm obsessed to say the least.
The J. Crew Perfect shirt really do have the right name, they are perfect in every way.
My brother gave me this Gigi Clutch for Christmas and I love it. It goes with everything, holds all my necessities for a night out and is the perfect shade of orange.
Asos has great accessories- I love this blue belt.
These Orange stud earrings are a colorful alternative to classic diamond studs.
It tends to get chilly at night when the sun goes down, this blue scarf would be lovely for those cool Summer nights.
Oh what I would give for an Orange Hermès bracelet of my own. When I start my own business and finish my first big design project this will be the first present I buy myself- I can't wait for that day!

Hits and Misses
Oscar night wraps up the 2012 awards season and I guess its about time I get in on the fashion action. I have not read anyone elses fashions reviews yet, so we'll see if my hits and misses are in line with others. I'm actually looking forward to hearing what Joan Rivers has to say about everyone, she is always so funny.
Anyway, here we go. I'll start out with the ladies from the big movies this year
The ladies from The Help were the big winners for me. Even though I thought Viola Davis was robbed of her Best Actress Oscar (how amzing is that green on her!?!) all 4 of these ladies looked amazing! Jessica Chastain was not my favorite at the Golden Globes, but last night she got it right. And Emma Stone is so funny, I really love her and her red dress. The Help cant be mentioned without talking about Octavia Spencer- she looked amazing, her speech was great and I was so happy for her!
Next up the ladies of The Bridesmaids
Not all my favorite. I love these ladies but I was not such a fan of all their fashion choices last night. Althought I wish Kristen Wiig had her hair up at least she wasent wearing a choker last night. Maya Rudolph looked hot- hottest I've seen her in awhile- loved that purple on her.
The rest of the ladies were just mehh to me.
I have not seen The Artist yet, I still have mixed feelings the whole silent movie thing, but I HATED all of these dresses. That mint green color can be beautiful, but yuck! And Penelope Ann Miller had AHHHMAZING earrings on but her dress and that headband were just not working for me.
Here are her earrings
These two ladies, who are slightly older than the rest, looked stunning in my opinion. That neckline on Glenn Close is just outstanding and while I know people may disagree with me I think that Meryl Streep looked her best last night. Compaired to what she wore to the Globes this is a complete 180, rock on Meryl!

Ellie Kemper's bangs were just too harsh for me. But, I think that color dress looks amazing on her!
I loved Rose Byrnes dress, but whats up with those shoes?
I LOVE Melissa McCarthy, she is one of the funniest ladies on TV, but her dress was just too much for me- the sleeves were wings & not the pretty kind.
And I dont have any complaints about Wendi's dress, I just wish she wore some earrings or a necklace. She just looked naked to me.
I have not seen The Artist yet, I still have mixed feelings the whole silent movie thing, but I HATED all of these dresses. That mint green color can be beautiful, but yuck! And Penelope Ann Miller had AHHHMAZING earrings on but her dress and that headband were just not working for me.

The ladies in black
Nothing surprising from Tina Fey, looks like she does at every other award show, although I do love her hair. Sandra looked beautiful in the black and white number. The top was slightly baggy for me, but that belt was rockin'!
And while this PAINS me to say it (I'm still team Jen) Angelina was beautiful. I mean her leg, the lips (I know we've seen them before) and of course her date, she really looked stunning.
The Nudes
These go in order from love to hate.
Giuliana was glowing, and that neckline was PERFECTION! I might have liked her hair better if it was not has slicked back, but overall she was beautiful.
Cameron was just ok. The bottom of her dress was pretty, but the top was plain and I hated it.
JLo I love you, but what what were you thinking? Not at fan of anything here.
The Whites
Again in order of love to hate.
Gwyneth omg how I love you! That cape was just Red Carpet royality looking. Only someone like you, with that amazing body, could pull something off like this. Seriously I cant get enough of this dress!
Kelly Rippa has a body to die for and anything looks good on her.
And Rooney Mara, is that you or your ghost? I cant tell where her dress ends and her skin starts, they are the same color. Not a fan. I like you better in black.
The Colors
No order here, I only LOVED Michelle Williams dress here. She has totally not been my favorite at past award shows, actually might even be my least favorite dressed but I just LOVE this redish/coral number she wore last night. Perfection!
The rest are mehh- Nothing special, I dont have strong HATE feelings but they arent memorable either.
To wrap it up, here are my best and worst dressed of the 2012 Oscars
What did you think about last nights fashion and the winners and losers?

Snooze
I won't go over all the hits and misses of the Oscars last night because I'm sure it's everywhere this morning. But, I will say that besides sleeping through basically the whole thing, this amazing woman woke me up every time I saw her
SHUT THE FRONT DOOR!
And that dress? Don't even get me started. LOVE is an understatement!
Beautiful dress, beautiful woman- basically the only saving grace of the evening.
the dress is Givenchy Couture BTW
I know many of you wont agree with me, but its my blog and I LOVE her!

Neck Bling
At the fabric store a few weeks ago I came across this fun animal print jersey-type material. Right then and there I had one of those ah ha moments.
I took home my score and created this in less then 5 minutes
If you haven't already noticed I'm loving fabric stores lately.

No Shine
Matte nail polish seems to be in this season. The jury is still out on how I feel about it.
What I am loving is that I don't need to go buy a whole new set of nail polish- I can just get a matte top coat and use the same colors I already have, score!
I may be rockin' this look the next time I go in for a manicure. LOVE it!!
Tell me, do you go matte?
(Photos from Teen Vogue, Marie Claire, Essie, and the last one is unknown, sorry!)

Grape Crushing
I'm totally rockin the purple tights today and I LOVE em!
I'm channeling my own little ShopaholicI cant wait to wear all the others I got this season

and oh yes...I can not wait to wear my fishnet stockings!! I have collected about 10 pairs from over the years and they are still my one of my favorite thing to wear. Instant glam!

Tights from Old Navy, Banana Republic and Forever 21

Really?!?
Ok, so I know JCrew has got it going on. They have great clothes, great style, and always put together really great things. Get where I'm going with this...I think they are great!
Anyway, I know that I'm usually a little behind when it comes to the latest and greatest. So when I saw this on the Jcrack website I had to stop in my tracks and say, really? Is that cool, should I be wearing that too?

So all you little fashion mavens out there- is this sock thing in??
Do tell!

Summer Hair
I'm trying to grow my hair out and its very frustrating at times. Right now its just stuck, like it has not moved in over two months...at least that's the what it feels to me.
Anywho- I have been searching for fun, easy and quick ways to do my hair in the morning to get it out of my face and also look cute and summery. I've never been great with doing my own hair so I was very excited when all these casual styles were showing up on the celebrities.
I cant quite do a french braid like Jen has here- I just do a simple braid- takes about 3 min and off I go.

A version of the braid is just an easy twist- total time, about 1 min

I have not tried this yet, but I like all the little braids

Gladiator What?
Taking a cue from Erin's post on Friday...I decided to take a fashion risk myself. I bought a pair of strappy gladiator sandals! Now, normally I would not go for a look like this because I am all of 5'3 1/2 (that 1/2 is VERY important). Shoes that cut me off at the ankles usually are a guaranteed way to make me look even shorter and dumpier, like gladiator sandals. But, when I saw these cute Tahari sandals, and noticed that they wouldn't break the bank I figured I would give it a go :)

I wore them to work today with cropped pants, they don't look half bad...actually I like them alot and people keep looking at my feet (not sure if that is a good thing or not yet)

Thanks Erin for getting me to try something risky with my summer fashion!

Hot or not?

I remember in the 80's my mom had these clip things for her shoes. I called them jewelry for her pumps, and thought they were fun to play with. I never thought much of them again till I found this website that specializes in them. Absolutelyaudrey.com carries a ton of shoe clips so you can customize your shoes to match different outfits.

So, did these die in the 80's along with banana clips and pegged jeans and should stay there? OR are they cool again and would you wear them? Do tell
