Tackling the List

Now that fall is in full swing and winter is not far behind its time to tackle my ever growing list of "things/stuff to make". Every time I see something I want to make, or some cool craft I print it out and stick it in a huge binder for future reference. All those times the BF was in class and I was stuck at home alone the binder came in handy.

Well the BF is back in school for his last semester (can I get a woohoo) and the weather is getting too cold to play outside the binder is back out. Here are a few things I want to tackle right away:

I love the new pillows I made on my couch, but its time to make some pretty fall/winter cozy ones. I've always wanted to try making pillow covers out of sweaters, cashmere sweaters to be exact. Just the thought of them makes me want to take a nap.

Maybe I'll make a few like these too to mix up the textures, love the bright velvet ones from Pottery Barn- gotta go with the orange of course :)

I've had this one on my list for awhile and its time to find the right bench/stool. This is an easy project and would look great next to the chair I'm about to re-cover.

Time to do something with the windows in my bedroom- they are white, white, white and they need some life. I hope I can find the right fabric for this project or I can always copy Camila's idea- hers came out amazing!

I'm sure I'll find more things to add to this list, but this is a good start as far as projects go.

So, what's on your project to-do list?

I'm loving those cozy pillows; perfect for fall. My to-do list seems endless right now too, lots of little projects to tackle! I am hoping to make fabric board, your DIY was great inspiration!

I love ALL those projects! I hope you can get through them all! (I want to do velvet pillows too!)

I start to break out in a sweat thinking of all the things I want to do this fall...but at the top of the list is refinishing a fireplace mantle and painting a desk for my sister!

And my first thought is, whose cashmere sweater are you going to be cutting up?!

On my project list is a big old farmhouse cabinet for my husband's office and redoing a console in my entry. Endless projects...it's a good thing.

I have such a big to-do list! And you have really inspired me to DIY some of the upholstery (love the chair you did, can't wait to see the next one!).

Janell, I have some old ones that dont fit me anymore that I might use- OR I am going to hit up the Goodwill or Salvation Army to see what I can come up with. If not cashmere, hopefully something soft :)

I also love the sweater pillows and just said to my co-worker "Well, I guess I'll have to go to Goodwill!" My to-do list has redecorating the bathroom, organizing my closet and, as of today, repainting the bathroom.

Great idea LindsB! I have 2 beautiful cable sweaters that were accidentally shruken and now I know what I can do with them!!! SO glad I didn't just throw them out!

I don't have a binder, but I keep a running list of house projects and when'er the hubs is gone I get to work! It makes me feel industrious if I don't just lounge on the sofa every single time!

I love your current projects. I can't wait to see that chair! Also, the pillows are going to be a hit! I just bought one {like pictured} at Home Goods! it was a STEAL. I think the drapes will look perfect in that room. Can't wait to see how it all turns out. Ohhh and yay for the BF! I've been going to school f-o-r-e-v-e-r and know I would be STOKED!!!

I finally feel as if I am getting a handle on my to do list, but I am sure it will grow again once I am over this cold and I can think.

My daughter has 2 cashmere dresses from Italy she never wears (2 children now) so I washed them in hot water to shrink them ala Martha S. instructions, guess what, they didn't shrink! No cashmere pillows now. What to do with 2 slinky red & white numbers? Can you make scarves? A stole? Anyone???
After that I hope to paint an antique chest of drawers and a chair in a Swedish white & blue. Wish me luck.

I love your projects. You are project queen. I have a million. Painting is first and foremost. I have all my walls and trim to do. Then installing a floor to ceiling bookshelf, installing blinds in all my livingroom/dining room windows, lacquering side tables. Designing dining table which I'm having made in Louisiana. All before Christmas hopefully. I'm tired typing it. Yikes!

Love the sweater pillows. I have a pile of cashmere sweaters in my storage room that I am saving for something wonderful like this.

I totally believe in dressing rooms to fit the seasons.

I want more of your living room. Can not get over that blue.

Love those pillows! I need to take my sewing machine out of the box - that would be a good start. :) Then I'd also like to make new fall/winter pillows for the living room. I've got a lovely ikat fabric all picked out!

Looks like we have a similar list (pillows and an bench). I was thinking about burlap coffee bean sacks turned into winter pillows, now I have added the sweater pillow to the list. I guess it is just going to keep growing.

I'm hoping that my project list is very small. I can't do anything else to my house. Just sitting here waiting for my mom to send me that table skirt!!! And then I'm going to try and just keep my house like it is for awhile. But I do want a stool just like the one in the photo. Let me know if you find two!!

Those velvet pillows from PB are nice. I have a few of them that I get out for the fall/winter season for my sofa. I'd like a few of those cable knit ones too. They look so warm and cozy.
