Busy Bee

Lately I feel like I'm going a million miles an hour with no break.  I know I am over exaggerating, but sometimes I just want to be able to press a pause button on my life so I can catch my breath.

The above picture is what I have been knee deep in for the last 7 weeks, my drawing for Interior Decorators class.   I LOVE it!

I am learning so much and I can't wait to learn more.  Going back to school now feels so different from when I was an undergrad.  I am paying attention to every, single, word the teacher is saying and I actually love going to class.

So while I am feeling like I'm treading water just to stay afloat, it is a good thing for now because I know my hard work will pay off soon.

Please bear with me while I am busy juggling 100 balls and trying not to let any of them fall.

PS- thank you for all your kind words yesterday, I really feel so lucky to have so many great blog friends and readers!!

That is so exciting! I'm going back to school in the fall too to get some formal interior design training under my belt. I also thought it would be great to be around some like minded people in my area. I can't wait! And I'm looking forward to seeing some of your work!

Hey girl, I hear ya. Something I tried to do when I feel that way (which is pretty much everyday) is spend 5-15 minutes in the hammock (or on the couch in inclimate weather)with my husband. We don't talk, we just lie there and hold hands. It's amazing how relaxing just 5 minutes of that feels, to let your brain escape. When you tried to take 5 minutes to "do" something it goes by too fast, and I think makes you more tense. Hang in there, you are doing awesome!

the days of drafting class!! hope you are enjoying it. i agree with emily-- the eraser shavings... or the graphite that gets all over the side of your hand!

I am in the same boat... what happened to the "lazy days of summer?" I think the European have it right... take the entire month of August off.

I'm desperately trying to catch up on my blog reading. I finally handed the baby to the Mr. and took the laptop outside! Congrats on taking the interior design classes - good for you for making a change! It's a great challenge but you have such a good eye that I'm sure you'll do great!

So fun! It's so much more meaningful going to school as an "adult" and really being interested in what you are doing. Not that going uptown all the time wasn't interesting. Where are you taking classes?

I didn't know you were back in school; how exciting to be pursing your passion! I know what you mean about feeling like life is a mile a minute... I love the idea above about just taking 5 minutes to pause. Best of luck with squeezing in some R&R and with school!

Ah the portable drafting table!! I totally forgot about mine until I saw this picture! I think I have the exact same one just a bit bigger. Drawing classes are the best, glad you're enjoying! Post some of your work when you're done :)
ps. a little tip - make sure you tighten the parallel bar when you store it upright, somehow my springs got loose and its hard to keep straight now. :)

Wow, they still teach hand drafting??? It feels like I learned that soooo long ago but it is a good thing to know. I'm glad you are enjoying your class!

I left the link to the shop you asked about on my blog and thought I'd come here to let you know. I never remember to check for responses myself.

OMG Interiors Drawing! I remember those days well! To be honest, I was never that good at it, but it's one of those things you just have to do! I'm sure yours are amazing! Good luck!
