He Wants, She Wants

The fiance and I don't often see eye to eye when it comes to decorating the house.  Although I try really, really hard to incorporate his style into our place sometimes his ideas get the boot.

Well not this time, we finally agreed on two spaces (for our future, imaginary home) that we both could live with.  Spaces that bring a little of both of us to the table, so to speak.

The first one is the kitchen, the heart of the home.  I love this space because of how open it is and the white cabinets of course (my favorite).  I can picture us growing old here and having lots of parties with friends and family gathered all around the island.
(I cant remember where I found this picture, if anyone knows the source please let me know so I can credit it)

The second space we both love is a family room.  It's a little modern and a little traditional with a splash of Asian influence.  Just like us!

Only a few bedrooms, bathrooms, a living room, and maybe a finished basement to decide on now.

I need that kitchen. Thank goodness we have the same taste. when we decorate we can tip each other off to the fabulous things we find to "add to the space". I think I want to skip the wedding and go straight to decorating a home!

Hey, if you can agree on the part of the house you spend 90% of your time in, I say you're A-OK!

Great choices!! Combining styles is definitely a challenge... I feel you!! My fiance pulled out the tape measure to show me the size of the new TV he wants to buy... it takes up just about the whole wall!! Hmm... not sure if I want our living room to look like Best Buy... but that's just me!!

Good luck Love!
Hope you're having a great week!

i love it ALL - modern mixed with an old vibe! - i dunno what i'd do if i had to compromise my "style" .. when i set my heart on something i want - i'll cry till i get it - teehee ... "he" can have a man cave - the rest of the house is MINE! hahahahaha

Ah yes, I have the same issue with the Hubby. I am glad you all see eye to eye on something.

I love the wall color in the living room and that fabulous armoire. Most of the time the hubs and I agree, but not when it comes to colors - I like cool blues and greens, and he likes richer, darker colors. Most of the time I win. :)

Yes, it is always a compromise, isn't it! My husband is pretty much of a pushover when it comes to design, or rather, I just do it and then he's too lazy to change, lol! But I do try to be respectful of him and not make things overly feminine and incorporate some of his stuff! XO!
