Blogger's Favorite Everything: The Inglenook Decor

It's Back.....
________________________________________________

Featured today on Blogger's Favorite Everything is Maureen, the blogger and e-store goddess behind The Inglenook Decor AND the blog Ingle Talk. Maureen just jumped into the blog world and she has started off with a bang! She has a great eye for style and wonderful decor, which is why she decided to start her own store to feature all of her great finds.

I've already been on her site searching for my next home accessory- she has so many great things I am going to have an issue picking just one! After you read all about her favorite things be sure to head on over to her blog and store to see more for yourself.

Here are a few of Maureen's favorite things:

Lamp- I have a lamp crush on this lamp from Shine Home. They sell wholesale & once I get the storefront I plan to carry their lamps

Everyday dishes-
pure white, simple & perfectly round. Mine is from Crate & Barrel

Everyday glassware-
Crate & Barrel, too, bought them at the same time, I believe they're called impressions glasses, very cheap but they look chic

Candle/scent- I was loving Botanicus before, the scent lasts forever but my new love is Linnea's Lights, they have soy-based candles. Just got my shipment, will post it on the e-shop soon!

Design book- for some reason I only knew about the Domino decorating book recently, so perusing the book right now, it's been good so far & I so miss the magazine! Oh & this one may not be your normal design book, but have you read/seen Junkyard Beautiful? So many creative ideas!

Coffee or tea-
Coffee! Can't do w/o it in the morning. I like mine like a creamer with a little coffee, Cafe au Lait!

Color- definitely yellow

Accessory- I have this pearl cross necklace I got from the Philippines, I've had so many complements about it

Electronic gadget- blackberry, I know it's a little obsolete but I just can't part with it & exchange it with an iphone. I think I'm going to have problems w/o the keyboard-like buttons

Nail polish color- somewhat boring, on my toes I just do good old French

Artist- my fiancee! he's a musician

Flower- green hydrangeas

Comfort food- we have so many of that here in Southeast Texas. Would u consider Cajun food comfort food? If it is, then that's my answer.

Alcoholic drink- Long Island Iced Tea, a little strong but it jut tastes so good!

Writing utensil- Precision V5 fine point felt tip pen, They're always in stock at my work & they're bought exclusively for me, our order supply list states "maureen's pens"

Vacation spot- Barcelona, never been & I'm just so intrigued

Heels / flats- I do heels a lot because I'm short, don't do flats much but I love sandals in the summer of course!

Room to decorate- home office, i love to make it functional & beautiful
Magazine- House Beautiful, Inside Out Home Living (it's new & so cool)

Designer- I'm not a designer kind of gal. Yeah, I drool over them but I've never felt an urge to buy an ultra-expensive piece of clothing

Chair- white & tufted!

Big box store- Target of course!

Current Trend- feminine & flowy, not sure if that's a trend but here's a link to what closely resembles it: HERE

Blogger's Favorite Everything: Everything LEB

_______________________________________________
Since I asked other bloggers to fill this out I figured it was time to do my own list. No introduction needed, so here are a few of my favorite things:

Lamp- The pair of lamps in my family room, came from my Grandparents house via my parents attic- love them

Everyday dishes- Crate and Barrel Aspen Dinnerware

Everyday glassware- LaRochere Bee- I first saw these at my best friends parents house (who are very stylish and amazing cooks so I look up to them) and fell in love. Hopefully someday I will have a large collection

Candle/scent- Jo Malone Nectarine Blossom & Honey in the summer and Prada in the winter

Design book- Celerie Kemble To Your Taste, House Beautiful The Home Book, Domino The Book of Decorating,

Cleaning supply- J.R. Watkins stuff and Magic Erasers- seriously I have not found a mess these things cant clean- they really are magic

Sheets- Any 100% cotton white sheets with a thread count of 300 or higher, Marshalls and SmartBargains seem to have great deals lately- I'm not picky

Coffee or tea- Coffee, Starbucks every morning is a really bad habit I need to work on breaking.

Color- Orange

Accessory- diamond studs my parents surprised me with at Christmas with three years ago, I cried like a baby when I got them and wear them every single day.

Electronic gadget- My future Canon Rebel XSi- don't have it yet...but I know it will be my favorite (hint, hint to the BF)

Nail polish color- OPI Russian Blue and Essie Ballet Slippers

Flower- I would say Peonies but to be different I am going to say gardenias. They have been my Dads favorite flower since he was a kid so I adopted them as mine too, and how can you not love that smell? I just wish they weren't so hard to keep alive

Comfort food- Pizza and beer- mmmm

Alcoholic drink- Stoli blueberry, club soda with a lime and (but not at the same time) a dark stout beer

Writing utensil- a blue Bic Cristal- the kind you can get 12 for a buck- cant write with anything else, love these

Vacation spot- Belgrade Lakes, Maine- we used to have a lake house there growing up but it just sold. I’m hoping the BF and I can continue the tradition and eventually be able to afford one too.

Stationery- Mine! (you can see just some of it here, I need to work on getting more up)

Pair of jeans- Joes Jeans- they make them for vertically challenged people like myself… I don’t even have to hem them

Heels / flats / sneakers- I love heels but since I live in the city and walk alot I tend to be comfortable in flats. In the summer its my Rainbow flip flops and in the winter it’s Uggs that I wear the most. (I know Uggs are ugly but you try walking in the awful Boston weather to and from work and you'll learn to love them too)

Room to decorate- All of them- but lately I’ve been fixated on my BF office, but he is having a hard time letting go and allowing me to decorate since its his space

Magazine- ugg, sore subject- there are so few left. But House Beautiful, BHG and Elle Décor are still the staples.

Lipstick/lip gloss/lip balm- Palmers Coco Butter stick- best stuff EVER

Designer- too many to list here- but I have to say I get alot of inspiration from all the blogs I read- you all have amazing ideas

Organizational tool- Brother P-touch Label Maker

Chair- The one I just re-covered, love it! BUT, if money were no object I’d love a house full of chairs from Hickory Chair

Big box store- Target
China pattern- Lenox Federal Platinum-both my Mom and Grandma have this, so I hope to get some myself one day.

Bag/ Handbag- My dream bag is an Hermes Birkin- ah swoon

Towels- Any good quality over sized white ones

Soap- plain old Dove in the shower and Burts Bees Citrus and Ginger Root for my hands

Current Trend- Its not so much a trend but I really love mixing high and low end pieces, from your clothes to your home its all about mixing it up.

Blogger's Favorite Everything:High-Heeled Foot in the Door

_______________________________________________

Featured today on Blogger's Favorite Everything is Camila from the blog High-Heeled Foot in the Door. I cant remember when I first found Camila's blog, but I'm glad I did because I found a great friend and someone I seem to go to alot with questions or advice, most recently with my whole chair issue. I posted about fabric choices and not even 20 minuets later I had a long (and I mean LONG) list of fabrics, descriptions and links as to where I could buy the fabrics. Seriously, I almost died. Camila is kind, friendly, sweet and just an all around great (and talented) girl.

When she lost her job back in the fall she decided to make lemon aid out of lemons and follow her dream of going back to school and becoming an interior designer. I can only hope when she is running around like mad with her wildly successful business she still has time to blog...because I still need my daily eye candy from her :)

So, if you have not checked out Camila's blog be sure to head on over after reading this and check her out

Here are a few of Camila's favorite things:

Lamp: My all-time favorite lamp is from JC PENNEY'S! Shocking I know, but it was one of my best purchases at only $80 bucks a lamp I got the crystal ball lamp that I had seen years ago on an old episode of S&TC. I have had it for years and move them around constantly.

house 093

Everyday dishes: classic white from anywhere! Mine are from Pottery Barn, but you can pick them up anywhere. I love going to restaurant depots and picking up plates there as well

Everyday glassware: For glassware I tend to stick with clear glass. The glasses I have are a mix of pieces from thrift stores. My favorite has to be a set of juice glasses I found that were monogrammed with a P and worked perfectly with my married name Pavone.

Candle/Scent: Don’t really have one. I have a very sensitive nose and scents tend to me a headache. I am a sucker for pretty packaging though and think that TOCCA candles look amazing in a home.

Design Book: My favorite at the moment is still Celerie Kemble’s To Your Taste

to your taste
Cleaning Supply: I have two dogs so dog hair is the ban of my existence. I get by with daily cleaning using my Swiffer Sweeper

Fabric: This is a really tough one. I love so many fabrics, but for the one that I have loved the longest it’s a tie between KWID Imperial Trellis and Katsugi.

Sheets: I don’t have a certain brand that I always get, but I do always get 800 thread count, Egyptian cotton.

Wallpaper: Anything by Osborne and Little. I’m still hoping, wishing, praying to get some this paper into my home:

Coffee / Tea: Tea drinker all the way. My go-to brand is Stash.

Color: At the moment Citron green, but always brown and orange

Handbag: Foley and Corinna. Seriously I want every single bag they make!

Electronic Gadget: My laptops!

birthday weekend 019

Nail Polish Color: Bermuda Shorts by Essie

Flower: Peonies

peonies

Comfort Food: Mac and Cheese

Heels or Flats: I wish it was heels, but I live in flats

Lipstick or gloss: Always gloss normally by Tarte.

China Pattern: Library Lane by Kate Spade. It’s a classic white with platinum rim. I can add fun salad plates to the mix when I want to add a burst of color!

Current trend: CHEVRON!

Blogger's Favorite Everything: La Dolce Vita

_____________________________________________________

Featured today on Blogger's Favorite Everything is Paloma, the beautiful blogger behind the La Dolce Vita AND her recent project the Decorum Design Forum . Paloma could not be nicer and always has the best eye candy and is a source of constant inspiration for my own place. When I first started reading her blog I was also excited to find out that she is a Spanish teacher and has a love for Spain just like I do- we were meant to be friends :)

Last month Paloma started a Personal Style, Defined series. Its a brilliant idea as everyone loves to see how other bloggers designed their own personal space. So, if you have not checked out La Dolce Vita, Decorum, OR any of brilliant installments of Personal Style, Defined then you must go to check them out.

But first, here are a few of Paloma's favorite things:

Lamp- Anything by Visual Comfort available at Circa Lighting. They have such a gorgeous selection that it is hard to choose just one, but I would have to say that my current favorite is Suzanne Kasler’s Quatrefoil floor lamp, which I have in my family room.

Everyday dishes- I prefer white dishes so that the food can stand out and be the true centerpiece.

Everyday glassware- I have streamlined glasses with thick bases. I really like the look and the fact that the mouth is wider than the base.

Candle/scent- Henri Bendel Vanilla Bean- it is soft, subtle, but complex

Design book- There are so many, but I really love Inspired Styles because it is a veritable scrapbook of designer favorites and sources of inspiration.

Cleaning supply- Folex Carpet Cleaner: It works on everything and you can use it to pre-treat clothes, too. I also really like Method's products.

Fabric- This is a tough one! I think it depends on the application, really. I still really love Donghia’s Suzani and David Hicks’ La Fiorentina will always be a favorite.

Sheets- In a fantasy world, Leontine Linens

Wallpaper- Kelly Wearstler’s Imperial Trellis

Coffee or tea- Calm by Tazo

Color- I am horrible at picking favorites because I can never narrow it down! I really love grey, soft shades of turquoise, and Kelly green, but not all together.

Accessory- I have a wooden bangle with some brass circles that I seem to wear an awful lot.

Electronic gadget- iPhone

Nail polish color- Bubble Bath by OPI: It is the perfect pale pink neutral and is also a favorite of Giada de Laurentiis.

Artist- Pablo Picasso for his vision and for being a consummate artist. Frida Kahlo is a favorite because of her passion and the emotion in her paintings. I love Edgar Dégas’ dancers for their beauty and think Beatriz Milhazes is a great contemporary painter. See? I told you I couldn’t narrow it down!

Flower- Pink Peonies

Comfort food- Pizza

Alcoholic drink- I don’t drink alcohol very often, but I do enjoyed a full-bodied red wine like a Spanish Rioja or a Merlot or a good mojito from time to time.

Writing utensil- Uni-ball Vision: I like the pretty colors, but I think my handwriting looks best when I use a plain ball point pen.
Vacation spot- Spain

Stationery- I just bought some really pretty note cards from Ana Stella on Etsy.

Pair of jeans- J. Crew High Heel Flare, which I am afraid have been discontinued! Just my luck!

Heels / flats- It depends on the day and my mood.

Room to decorate- Living/ Family Room since most people spend the bulk of their time there.

Magazine- House Beautiful

Lipstick/lip gloss- Sonia Kashuk Lipgloss in Dream

Designer- This is really difficult because I like so many different styles, but I would say a few of my favorites are David Jimenez, Angie Hranowsky, Amanda Nisbet, and Michele Bonan.

Organizational tool- My Post-Its for making to-do lists. I usually have a few plastered all over my desk.

Chair- Right now, the vintage 1950’s chairs my husband and I made over.

Big box store- Target

China pattern- Hermès Guadalquivir

Handbag-
Hermès Birkin…maybe some day!

Towels-
I don’t have a favorite brand, but I look for towels that feel nice to the touch. I also happen to prefer white towels over anything else. I think they look the most crisp.

Soap- Savon de Marseille: All of the scents are intoxicating! I love them.

Current Trend- I feel like people are taking more risks with color, which is fantastic!
