Scandinavian Love

I just received a copy of the new book Lars Bolander's Scandinavian Design and I'm smitten!

Before I read this book I didn't have a deep knowledge of Scandinavian style, I just knew that it was pretty and I really loved it. But after, I feel so much more appreciation for the beautiful designs and history!

The photos are outstanding in this book and it's total design porn at its finest. The clean lines, natural materials and open spaces of Scandinavian design are shown through the most beautiful large and colorful photos.

Lars Bolander certainly knows this style and even offers advice on how to get the Scandinavian look in your own home.  One of my favorite parts of this book is the section on Modern Danish Chairs.  It's an encyclopedia of sorts that highlights all those famous Danish chairs we see incorporated in so many designs (think egg chair deliciousness).

Spray What

Ever since I painted my tea box a light gray spray paint I have been obsessed with painting anything and everything that is not tied down in my apartment.  Ok well that is a little bit of an exaggeration, but I feel like I've been outside in the back alley of my apartment spray painting alot lately.

One thing I love about spray paint is how easy it is and how fast it is.  One thing I hate is the limited colors and that its not so great for the environment, alright that was two things.

Speaking of colors I just found the amazing color choices that Valspar offers and I am blown away!  They don't carry it at my local Home Depot so I have not used it yet, but you better believe I will be heading to a local retailer soon to stock up on some of these fun colors.

 

I can already count 10 or more colors I want to get.

My other two favorite brands are Krylon and RustOleum

You better believe that my weekend will be full of spray paint fumes.  And everything in my apartment will be covered in new bright colors.

Wondering Eyes

Dear Mr. Boss Man

Please excuse my lack of work and productivity today.  You see Lonny hit the Internet airwaves early this morning and the only time I have had to look at it is at work.  So, you see, this really isn't my fault.
