Just as I finished my mid-term for class, my teacher handed out our assignment for the final. I'm busy pulling together a million working pieces for the project, but I thought I'd share my preliminary master bedroom plan (its still a work in progress)

I'm kinda obsessed with those lamps- If they didn't cost as much as a few months rent (ok, I'm exaggerating a little here) I would have a pair of my own already.
Also, I need to teach myself how to use one of those fun programs that lets me get rid of backgrounds in pictures. My boards need a little help.
Does anyone have any good tutorials or tips & tricks they can share?

I just use PowerPoint there is a "remove background" tool and it makes a world of difference.

Boards are so hard...I have been looking for programs as well! Hopefully someone will enlighten us all!!
The Leontine Linens are my fave...and the Bengal Bazaar fabric I can never get enough of!!

love the lamps! I remember those days in school where i could create rooms without a budget. So fun!
I use photoshop and in design. You can purchase it online for a steal because you're a student. I'm lucky enough to have a friend who teaches graphic design, she came over and "tutored" me. I still have a lot to learn but it was worth it! Also I think there's an online thing called Olio(??), but I haven't checked it out.
Kirsten, not having a budget is the best part! I realize this is totally not reality, but I'm enjoying it while it lasts :)

I use olioboard, have you tried it? IT does most of the work for you. It doesn't always remove the background cleanly, but it does a better job than other methods that don't require photoshop skills!

I use Word for all my boards. After you paste an image in, click the part of the image you want to "erase" then choose Recolor and Set transparent color. Voila--no background! It's also easy to move things from front to back, etc. Works for me. Good luck! I love your room!

I have a little something that I need to wrap and send your way - love the room, it has an old world wasp vibe to it. I can just see breakfast in bed in that room.
