A 125th Milestone

Speaking of fabric, did you see the google homepage today? It looked like this
That's because today would have been Josef Frank's 125th birthday!

Even if you don't know the name you would most certainly recognize some of his designs because they have graced some pretty stylish magazines, ahem Domino.

And here are two other favorite rooms of mine that use Frank designs

Frank was born in Austria but moved to Sweden where he designed his super colorful fabric and also where it is still produced today.

I would LOVE to use any of his patterns in a future design project, they are classic, colorful and fun- the perfect combination!

Happy 125th Birthday Josef!

(to see more of his fabric check out the great website Just Scandinavian)

Wow! That's neat to know, I saw it this morning but didn't know anything about him! I have a duvet from Pottery Barn that looks suspiciously like these patterns! I remember the description of the duvet saying something like it was an old Swedish design. How neat!

I was so excited when I saw Google this morning and knew it must be a tribute to Josef Frank I just didn't know it was his birthday. Google is with it!!

Wonderful! I think I must have some Austrian roots-
I love Scandinavian simplicity and the cuisine too.

My husband is Swedish and we travel there every year. There is a fantastic store in Stockholm dedicated to Josef's things. Their link is:

I'm pretty sure they even ship to the US.

I had never heard that name, but I'm already falling in love with the colors he used. That last room is divine. I love me a white sofa and pops of color.

Love Josef Frank's prints. They look so incredibly of the moment. Hard to believe he created these decades ago.
