Once I got the board hung up and stuff on it I decided the white was just too white and looked blah to me.
I feel like it gets lost up there- no pizazz
So off the white fabric came and a piece of burlap went on and added the texture I thought the corner was lacking
So, what do you think? Did it look better before...should I put the white back on?
OR
Do you like it better now?
Spill it, I want to know :)

Hard to say. I like both versions. The burlap texture is great, but what you have on the board adds a nice amount of color so the white doesn't get too washed out. but now looking at it again, I think I prefer the burlap - makes it stand out against the wall just enough so it'll look better when the board is more empty.
I like the burlap!!! Love it! I did just the same thing with burlap to a framed corkboard and it turned out great! I'll get pics up sometime this week...
Burlap! The white blended in too much!!
Both look great, but I think the burlap is the best. It just pops off the wall. I love it!
I love the way the burlap looks! Definitely more texture, without being in your face bright.
Burlap!! It stands out more and is a little more unexpected. It looks great!
I like it now better! Love it!
I like the current version. Adds interest.
I like the burlap, but have you thought about maybe trying a simple pattern to add a little pop?
It is a very darling board, though :)
i have to agree with everyone, i like the burlap...i like the bigger contrast.
burlap.
I actually like both but if I had to choose, I'd say the burlap. It pops better.
Burlap, definitely.
You chose....WISELY. The 'lap looks fab.
OK, now YOU spill it on where you got those metal stools? Want them. ;)
Burlap. Now I'm wanting a chalk board. :) ha.
burlap!
I like it better now!
Super cool! :) Love the burlap!
oh no this looks alot better.. it really pops. kudos.
The Burlap is by far my favorite. Great choice. I looks fab!
I enjoy the contrast of the burlap!
I agree with Hayley. A simple pattern to coordinate the black and whites would be lovely. Maybe a damask or a stripe...
Ooooh, I love those metal stools! I must have them! Where are they from?
Burlap totally works with the galvanized stools. I'm all about a white-on-white theme, typically...but it mos def needed texture! Again, thanks for the corkboard idea...I've been meaning to post mine. Maybe I'll include it when we {finally!!} get our mudroom finished. I also am now on the hunt for a chalkboard...but as I'm allergic to chalk I need a good alt, that ISN'T a dry-erase. Any thoughts?!?!
I like the burlap!
I'm really liking the burlap; this is a great idea and love the you can probably dig around and use old fabric scraps to totally brighten up a corner- well done!
I like the burlap. It's more noticeable.
Burlap!! All white is fabulous sometimes, but the burlap is great.
I just became your 100th follower!!! Also, I'm featuring your message board on my blog tomorrow I hope it's okay (if not let me know). Love your work

I like the contrast with the second board, but both are great! As you saw on my blog, "imitation is the most sincere form of flattery"! Thanks for your comment and again, you came up with a brilliant design for making message boards! Janell
I loved the white but I agree the burlap has more oomph!
Burlap is better - stands out. I'd kind of love to see a brightly patterned fabric, but then you might lose what's actually on the board!
Burlap all the way! I love how it pops off the wall.
I'll get your book in the mail!
