It's in the details

Wedding planning is ALOT harder then I anticipated!  I was expecting it to be hard and time consuming, but I didn't expect it would be as hard as it is.  I know its only because I love weddings so much and i have extremely high expectations of myself.

I mean, I used to plan peoples weddings during the summer in college.  I was the the assistant to the wedding planner and at the end of the summer she let me take over a few weddings.  It was a blast!  So I can plan anyone another brides wedding with no issue, right down to what color toilet paper they would have (well, if there was a choice other than white) but when it comes to my own I'm having a hard time with everything.

I think I finally made one big decision with the colors though.

Orange & Cobalt Blue with hints of gold

And wouldnt you know as soon as I picked those colors I am seeing colbalt blue bridesmaids dresses everywhere, just my luck!

PS- The wedding is in March 2011.  Yea, that doesnt leave me with alot of time to get this all pulled together.  Crunch time is coming!

I'm in a wedding in a few weeks with almost the exact same color pallette! I love it, it's such a gorgeous combination.

It is so hard when you have been exposed to so many choices and know what is available. Instead of trying to be different than everyone go for what you LOVE and you will have the perfect wedding for YOU!!! Being different is over-rated anyhow,Kathysue

Kate really? Now I want to change!! I want something different so bad!

I know its hard to do different, as there are only so many colors and color combos but I really have my heart set on being a different bride. You must take pics so I can see all the details!

Wow I love these color choices! They are beautiful and so different. Would your flowers be orange with hints of green? That would look beautiful with the cobalt dresses! One suggestion I have is to choose the color of your flowers and then your bridesmaid dress...for example I knew I wanted hot pink and green bouquets, so that only left me with a few choices for bridesmaid dresses, and I went with Navy from Jcrew and they looked great! But that is a very conventional color combo. When is your wedding? I can't wait to read more about it, and if you have any questions on having a luxe wedding for less please let me know. We just celebrated our first anniversary in June!

When's your wedding?
The beginning is the hardest, picking everything out...then it slows down to almost nothing...then about 3 weeks before your date it kicks into "super stressful gear" but before you know it its over, so enjoy the process (I am sure you heard that a 1,000 times)

Love the color palette!

LOVE the color choices! Don't feel stressed about this, as an interior stylist, I was just telling my boss how I felt the same way about my own house yesterday... it will all come together perfectly! I can't wait to see pictures of your gorgeous wedding!

The colors are beautiful and I know your big day will be as well! So many choices, yes! Perhaps that is why I opted for a trip to City Hall!! :)

Great choice. You have plenty of time. If it was longer, you would change your mind more - this way you plan it and do it. Have fun with the process! And let me know if you have any questions about Boston vendors. I was very happy with everyone I chose.

Beautiful color combo! Wedding planning is very stressful but try not to get too caught up in it! You need to enjoy this time!!

You have plenty of time! Just enjoy the ride ( I know, easier said than done). But seriously, we planned our wedding in 6 weeks, and it couldn't have been more perfect! (and no, I was not pregnant). = )

I LOVE the color choices. Don't let it deter you...I'm sure that your wedding will be yours and incredibly unique. Don't worry about what others are doing.

I can just picture colbalt dresses with orange asiatic lilies....ahhh, to die for!

My best friend says, the only two things that really matter at a wedding are an open bar and that guests be temperature comfortable (i.e. no outdoors in July or January). Other than that - and a kickin' band - everything else is just gravy!

Love the colors. I'm a big fam of orange and blue... in fact, my wedding colors were navy and salmon/coral (a play on orange and blue)! I know it will be a great day for you, and the planning is going to fly by.

Do what you love, and it will be your wedding. Don't worry about what other people are doing. My brides maids wore cobalt blue, and I still think they look beautiful, and yes, they carried orange lillies! Liz

You're not alone, there are so many brides that feel that way- I know I did! I feel like not many people admit it though... and ya know what, i agree with the above comment, you have to go with what you love. I found that going with my gust instinct to make the touch decisions was usually the best. Good luck and keep the snippets coming!

Love your color choices - and I totally agree - it's way harder to do your own than just pick things for someone elses!

I love reading your blog! I remembered this post of yours because it's a similar color scheme to what my wedding this past October was - yours is going to be beautiful! I just started a blog this past week and one of my friends at Party Resources featured my wedding on her blog today if you want to take a quick look for any orange/blue ideas! Here is a link to my blog and the wedding pics are the latest entry! Have fun with your planning!! http://insandoutsandwhereabouts.blogspot.com/
