A Cougar's Den

I often find myself watching TV shows and not paying attention to the actual show but the set design- do you ever do that?

I started watching Cougar Town on ABC Wednesday nights (right after Modern Family which has got to be the funniest new show on TV, seriously has me rolling on the floor laughing) starring Courtney Cox, who by the way looks DAMN hot at 45. I'm not going to say for 45, because she looks damn hot for any age!

Back on the design part of this post- I am in love with her house! I mean the kitchen is open to the family room which is has two sets of french doors that open right out to an amazing backyard with a pool!!

please excuse the crappy photos, they were taken while watching the episodes online :)

Pretty white kitchen, loving those Thomas Paul covered chairs on the island.

Very Florida-like with the large palm trees and shell filled lamp. I like.

Last view of the family room, during the day

Now a question- what other TV shows should I be watching so I can see more pretty set design?

omg, I love it! If you like midcentury modern, people go crazy for "Mad Men." I watch "Californication," and sometimes the sets are pretty great.

Brothers and Sisters...I have to rewind a lot because I get so caught up in the details of the houses that I miss the dialogue! Great show for set design and a great drama.

I don't watch this show but heard it was funny. Love the chairs in the living room!

Maybe Desperate Housewives?

Great show! I've only seen one episode of that & Modern Family & liked them both. New fav though: Bored to Death. Amazing!

That sofa is fabulous!

I agree, I find myself looking at set designs a lot, or their clothes!

Yes! I find myself watching the show just to purvey the housewares; I find that I'm often distracted by set design. I know about posted about it before and it's not a show, but the movie Funny People had great set design. Also, I agree with the other comments, Mad Men is fun to watch for that sort of thing too!

Great idea about the pictures! Love them!

And...Courtney Cox is totally underrated!

I love the lamp in the bedroom - I saw it online somewhere else...maybe Erin at Elements of Style posted it a while back? i've only watched the first episode and I squealed when I saw that lamp!

what a great set. The Holiday is my fave movie, but I swear it probably has to do with the set more than the actual movie.

This show is hillarious. I love the set design too. It fits her personality perfectly. Whoever the set designer is did a great job.

I do this all the time...I have watched movies over and over again just to research the set design!!! Thanks for stopping by my blog - I love comments!

It's so funny you posted this! A friend of mine told me to watch the show because the interior decor was amazing but I haven't had a chance! Now I have to DVR so I don't miss it again.

Also, love the tights! Feel I could never pull that off but you rocked em!

what a coincidence! i just bought a palm plant for a corner of my apartment :) i love the burst of green it provides.

i've heard amazing things about the mad men set if you're into mcm. unfortunately a lot of shows i watch are reality (YIKES i know) so not much interiors to look at. Though I was watching Ugly Betty last week and noticed Wilimena's dining table at home looked just like the ram's head coffee table I blogged months ago....

btw i too love Modern Family. Best new comedy of the season!

i missed the first few episodes, but now I am hooked. Love this show, and modern family before it is so FUNNY! I DVR them both. I don't know what I would do without DVR.

Her kitchen, I LOVE.

I like the set too. I noticed her kitchen in the one episode I watched

You know what? I was trying to figure out how I can get my kitchen to look like that! And I was going to suggest 'Brothers and Sisters' too.

aha, I do the same thing! My husband thinks it is hysterical, he says, what is happening, and I say, no idea, but that chair is killer!!!

Brothers and Sisters definitely, The Holiday, and Something's Got to Give are my top 3. But I also just saw a preview of a movie where every scene had pause worthy rooms, you must see it when in comes out. It's called "It's Complicated" and stars a million people; Meryl Streep, Alec Baldwin, Steve Martin, Rita Wilson, Allie Wentwork and Jon Krasinski. (<--Who was actually sitting across the aisle from me in the theater!) Everyone should see it when it comes out, very cute, lots of laughs and AMAZING sets. It was almost distracting!
