PS- I dont think this will fly with the BF either, but its worth a shot- my guess is that it will never happen, but I'm really into the idea beacuse its hot

lol - so funny, i was just staring at my wall thinking should i buy the paint tomorrow? then i came to your blog and saw this! i say do it. i got permission to paint. i DIDN'T get permission to paint it black. lol. i figure, i'll prime it before i leave. all of the units are repainted regardless of what the tenant did/didn't do to the walls anyways so i figure my landlady can't complain ;)
i've narrowed it down to 3 shades of black...soot (the one in the pic you posted), racoon fur, or black beauty..as soon as i decide - it's being painted!
oh - so needless to say, i say go for it! lol. plus it looks like you have some black squares in your blacksplash...it'll pull it together.
Thanks all for the "go for it" comments- I'm going to see how the BF feels about this one tonight. Actually, I need to make him think it was his idea...isnt that how to get something from a man, make him think he came up with the fab idea :)

Go for it. You can always prime and paint it back. My Dad owned apartment buildings and he didn't care what people did so long as they paid rent on time, were respectful of each other and left the place in the same condition they originally rented it.
DO IT..you can always repaint when you move!! good job on the shade!
