When I get bored I start projects and last night I was bored. I found an old cork board, some fabric and leftover tacks from my chair project and got to work.

Its now hanging in the kitchen near my little message center and will be the new home to my calender, invites and other such items.

  2. Ha ha too funny. Linds I have the same project waiting for me upstairs. I have all the supplies and it's just waiting for me to start it and hang it up in my entry way.

Thanks for doing it ahead of time, because now I know I'm going to love it for my home.

    Too funny!

What type of fabric did you use?

I was going to use burlap, because there is some of it all reading in the living room.

  3. This looks terrific!! I could also see this on a coffee or end table top and then polyurethane the fabric. Thanks for sharing.

  4. Camila- this is the second one I did and I love both! I just used some scrap white fabric I had around- I used two layers so the wood would not show. Actually on my other one I cut a piece of felt to fit just inside the frame, and that made it the same height as the frame so when I put in the tacks you could not tell it was a framed board- if that makes sense haha.

  5. This cracked me up because my husband used to hate when I got bored. something always got painted, recovered or moved!! Doesn't happen as often with 3 kids but your project turned out great!

  25. I LOVE this! I was thinking of a way to make my cork board cuter with fabric but I couldn't figure out how to take the wood frame off. Now I'll just wrap the fabric around it. Thanks for the great idea!

  27. Just found your blog! Loving it! My boyfriend was recently out of town and I made this exact same project...I started with a gorgeous hot pink print and when I was done I thought he might freak that it was a little too pink. Re-started and made it black. Still not loving the color. Not enough contrast with the nail heads! Anyway, tmi, I'll be back...love your blog!
