muah ha ha ha ha.......

(the title of this post is me trying to be scary and creepy)

I'm up to my eye balls in Halloween decor, to-do lists and creepy things at the moment. I've got a million and one things left to do and no time to do them. Isn't that always the case when you are hosting the party?

I forgot to take pictures of everything so to hold you over here are some of my favorite Halloween set ups that are serving as inspiration for my own:

Funky Flights

Stairs are an easy thing to forget when decorating your house...but just look at all the ways you can add a little funk into your commute upstairs or downstairs.

Redd Inspired

I was very inspired by the famous dark teal room done by Miles Redd so I decided to create a wedding board.

Update and a Thank You!

Hello my lovelies! A big thank you for all your advice and input yesterday regarding my mirror issue.

After taking all the comments into consideration I am going to keep the mirror up there for now. I'll add some sconces, decorate the mantle, and paint the frame. I thought about gold leafing it, and then Robin left me a comment saying to do so, and it just clicked. That is what I will do.

So much debate over a friggin mirror you would think I was trying to decide weather or not to shave off my eyebrows off or something...gasp!

Oh, and yes I still have the round mirror to put back up if I get sick of this one. I'm starting my own props closet.

Can you guess what holiday is coming up this weekend?? I'll give you three guesses.

I See You!

In the middle of all my Halloween decorating I decided to go and get a new mirror for my mantle. Well, actually I was at the Salvation Army and it was a deal too good to pass up, the mirror had to come home with me.

The mirror measures 53" x 33"- just to give you an idea of the area over my mantle.

***Also- this is not decorated at all yet- I just stuck it up there last night. I need to place items on the mantle and possibly sconces on either side of the mirror to draw the eye out, not just up.

So please excuse the Halloween mess going on up there- this is just to get an idea of the size and shape :)

And here is the before mirror.

Do you think its better / worse / no different?? Give it to me, should I keep the new mirror or go back to the old one??

Grape Crushing

I'm totally rockin the purple tights today and I LOVE em!

I'm channeling my own little Shopaholic

I cant wait to wear all the others I got this season

and oh yes...I can not wait to wear my fishnet stockings!! I have collected about 10 pairs from over the years and they are still my one of my favorite thing to wear. Instant glam!

A Cougar's Den

I often find myself watching TV shows and not paying attention to the actual show but the set design- do you ever do that?

I started watching Cougar Town on ABC Wednesday nights (right after Modern Family which has got to be the funniest new show on TV, seriously has me rolling on the floor laughing) starring Courtney Cox, who by the way looks DAMN hot at 45. I'm not going to say for 45, because she looks damn hot for any age!

Back on the design part of this post- I am in love with her house! I mean the kitchen is open to the family room which is has two sets of french doors that open right out to an amazing backyard with a pool!!

please excuse the crappy photos, they were taken while watching the episodes online :)

Pretty white kitchen, loving those Thomas Paul covered chairs on the island.

Very Florida-like with the large palm trees and shell filled lamp. I like.

Last view of the family room, during the day

Now a question- what other TV shows should I be watching so I can see more pretty set design?

I'm really loving the color pallets of these designs- the chocolates, creams and beige colors are relaxing.

Happy Friday!

I'll Start It...

Ok, I have to say it

T minus 29 days till this:

and I am beyond excited, bow chicka wow wow!!

Sittin Pretty

I'm in the process of switching over my summer closet to my winter closet and with that always comes a bit of the organization bug. I started in my closet but ended cleaning the top of my dresser and trying to organize all my jewelry. It would be nice to see what I actually own so I can wear it instead of just wearing the same necklace and earrings everyday :)

Here are some pretty photos that inspired me, maybe they will inspire you too.

Really?!?

Ok, so I know JCrew has got it going on. They have great clothes, great style, and always put together really great things. Get where I'm going with this...I think they are great!

Anyway, I know that I'm usually a little behind when it comes to the latest and greatest. So when I saw this on the Jcrack website I had to stop in my tracks and say, really? Is that cool, should I be wearing that too?

So all you little fashion mavens out there- is this sock thing in??
Do tell!
